A 35-year-old Saddle Brook resident was sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in a fatal overdose in Pequannock Township in 2021, authorities said.

The community is rallying for the family of a Mount Arlington man who drowned after falling from a boat on Lake Hopatcong this weekend.
The body of Jason Gil, 24, was spotted early Monday morning by Jefferson boater, New Jersey State Police said.
The boat's operator, Nicholas Zarantonello, 24 of Lake Hopatcong, was under the influence at the time of the incident, NJSP said. He was arrested and charged with boating under the influence, and released pending a court date.

Update: Body Of Drowned Boater Recovered, Operator Charged With DUI
The search for a 24-year-old man who fell off a boat into Lake Hopatcong ended Monday morning, when another boated spotted his body on the lake, authorities said.
Jason Gil, 24 of Mount Arlington, fell from a pontoon boat in Jefferson around 7:40 p.m. Saturday evening, New Jersey State Police said.
The boat's operator, Nicholas Zarantonello, 24 of Lake Hopatcong, was under the influence at the time of the incident, according to NJSP.
