Teen Bicyclist Killed In Crash With Mercedes Benz In Passaic County: Prosecutor
A 14-year-old bicyclist was killed after colliding with a Mercedes-Benz SUV in Woodland Park on Monday, March 10, officials said. The crash happened at approximately 4:20 p.m. near the intersection of Rose Place and McBride Avenue, according to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Woodland Park Police Chief Luigi DeLuca. Authorities said the teen was riding between traffic when they struck the rear passenger door of a 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE. A 40-year-old man was hospitalized Saturday after suffering a self-inflicted gunshot wound at a Woodland Park shooting range, authorities confirmed. Initial indications are that it was deliberate, they said. The Stamford, CT victim and his girlfriend were at the Gun For Hire range on McBride Avenue when "the boyfriend put his gun under his chin and pull the trigger," a ranking law enforcement official who spoke on condition of anonymity told Daily Voice. Police: Woodland Park School Board Candidate Busted For DWI
A candidate who finished out of the running in this week’s Woodland Park school board election was charged with DWI last month after registering more than twice the legal limit on a blood-alcohol test, police records show. Officer Justin Castro said in a police report that he spotted a four-door 2017 Ford driven by Jason Snyder, 27, just before midnight Oct. 5.
