A driver was arrested after police in Garfield said he pointed a gun at another motorist while stopped at an overnight light. A convicted felon from Lodi and a South Carolina companion were arrested after a Garfield police officer found a loaded gun during a traffic stop, authorities said. Garfield police put an end to what they said are false rumors surrounding an incident involving a second-grader in town. One involved a claim that a teacher was "attacked" by a student at the Christopher Columbus School No. 8 -- which police Capt. Mario Pozo said is false. A trio of Saddle Brook teenagers who arranged a meeting on social media for what they thought was the illegal purchase of THC vape cartridges in Garfield were instead robbed at gunpoint, said city police who made an arrest.
