UPDATE: The second of two brothers who pleaded guilty in the largest drug bust in Atlantic County history -- 45 pounds of heroin, fentanyl and cocaine combined -- was the first to be sentenced. Fourteen years was the best that Ricardo Clavijo, 42, of Egg Harbor Township could get from a plea deal with the federal government. Dealer Seized In Largest Drug Bust In Atlantic County History Takes Plea
A dealer who had more than 45 combined pounds of heroin, fentanyl and cocaine seized from his home in the largest drug bust in Atlantic County history will head to federal prison later this year, authorities said. Ricardo Clavijo, 40, and his brother, Christopher Gonzalez of Pleasantville, were arrested last summer when nearly 24 pounds of cocaine, 12 pounds of fentanyl and 9½ pounds of heroin were found in Calvijo's basement during a DEA-led raid of his Egg Harbor Township home. Residents Call For Action After Bicyclist Killed At 'Dangerous' Atlantic County Intersection
A bicyclist was struck and killed by a car at a notoriously dangerous Atlantic County intersection, authorities said. The crash at Ocean Heights and Wabash avenues happened around 12:10 a.m. on Sunday, April 10, Linwood police said. The cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity was not released. NJ Woman Who Abandoned Dogs Tethered To Trees Faces Charges In 3 Towns: Prosecutor
A South Jersey woman is facing charges in three different towns after abandoning several dogs in a forest and paying for parvo treatment using a stolen credit card, authorities said. Trouble for 45-year-old Jodi Wozniak began on Sept. 16, when five German Shepherd/Belgian Malinois were found in the woods near N. Pitney Road in Galloway, Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary Shill said. Some of the dogs were tethered to a tree and others were inside kennels with no food or water, police said.
