Inside 3,500-Square-Foot Gastropub Now Open In Bergen County
June 2023 was when Mike Madigan says he experienced the scariest moment of his life. The 44-year-old Wyckoff, NJ, dad had finally taken the leap on owning a bar and restaurant of his own and had everything he needed to move forward with the project. He had the lease. He had the architectural plans. And he had the approval from everyone he needed. All he needed was a construction company to agree to the work. "I spent a good three or four months calling construction companies and setting up appointments," said Madigan, a Burlington, MA native who by day works as a controller for Keller Wil…

Fugitive Former Paramus Basketballer Turned Bail Reform Poster Boy Captured In Rockland
The increasingly violent criminal career of a former Paramus Catholic High School basketball player continued when he tried to carjack a woman in Park Ridge, then led police on a pursuit, authorities said. Police in the Rockland County town of Stony Point later captured Jordan Dufont, 23, after a foot chase, Park Ridge Police Chief Joseph Madden said on Thursday, Aug. 17. Dufont had only just been released on Aug. 3 after spending five weeks in the Bergen County Jail following another pursuit and a combative arrest off Route 17 in Paramus. Police in Park Ridge got a call this time shortly…

Joseph Rampolla said. The mother sustained minor injuries after getting her children out the way of serious harm, Rampolla said. She was taken to HUMC Pascack Valley Medical…

An employee at a Park Ridge Starbucks was caught spitting into police officers’ orders, authorities said. Kevin Trejo, 21, of Westwood was arrested Monday and charged with assaulting a law enforcement officer with bodily fluid, tampering and creating a hazardous condition, Police Chief Joseph Madden said. Authorities “received information that an employee of a local coffee shop was spitting in the drinks of law enforcement that patronized the establishment,” Madden said. Police quickly arrested Trejo, who the chief said bragged about what he'd done. Trejo also was fired from his job at th…

HIM? FBI Offers Reward For 'Bomb Carrying' Park Ridge, Rockland Bank Robber
The FBI is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a man who they said robbed banks in Park Ridge and Pomona earlier this year by claiming to have a bomb. In the most recent holdup, the robber made off with what authorities told Daily Voice was $32,000 from an Oritani Bank branch on Kinderkamack Road in Park Ridge on April 17 after claiming to have a bomb in what looked like a pizza delivery bag. “He ordered the bank’s tellers to go into the vault area and instructed one teller to put money in the bag,” the FBI said Thursday. He then fled…

Bergen Prosecutor: Rockland Stalker's Bogus 'Active Shooter' Call Brings SWAT To Park Ridge
UPDATE (MAY 8, 2019): As coincidences go, it's odd: A bogus 911 "active shooter" call that brought a SWAT team and swarms of other responders to a Park Ridge home had nothing to do with a bank robbery across town that occurred at almost the same time, authorities said. Questions of a possible connection arose after authorities last week announced that Austin Parks, 48, of Spring Valley had been charged with making the April 17 call. However, a senior law enforcement official told Daily Voice that the call was "unrelated...oddly" to the robbery at nearly the same time of an Oritani Bank bra…

PARK RIDGE, N.J. – A 42-year-old River Edge man was seriously injured with what responders said was an ax during a struggle with a Westwood man in Park Ridge.
