Somewhere In The Swamps Of East Rutherford: Garfield Vehicle Thief Crashes, Bails
The driver of a vehicle stolen out of Garfield crashed the car on an East Rutherford service road, bailed out and vanished into the swamps after being chased by the owner, authorities said. No injuries were reported. East Rutherford police had help establishing a perimeter after the thief was last seen near the Hilton off the eastbound Route 3 service road around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, Capt. A misdirected bomb threat intended for a school more than 600 miles away brought the bomb squad, K-9 unit and SWAT team to Glen Rock on Tuesday. Paterson Man, 63, Busted For Dealing Coke
A 63-year-old Paterson man was caught selling cocaine from a local bar, Passaic County Sheriff Richard Berdnik said. Detectives from the sheriff's Bureau of Narcotics conducted simultaneous searches of the vehicle and Keen Street basement apartment of Julio C. Arista, as well as of Quilvio's Bar & Liquors on Main Street, on Thursday, Aug. 3, Berdnik said. A Lodi elementary school was evacuated for nearly an hour and a half after someone phoned in a bomb threat Monday morning.
