Massive Fire Burns Through Morris County Home
A massive house fire raged for hours in Jefferson Township as firefighters battled the blaze on Tuesday night, authorities say. First responders were called to a home on Vassar Road in Newfoundland just after 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 20 for a reported structure fire, county officials said. On arrival, firemen saw the home "fully engulfed in flames," but found that the building had been safely evacuated. Several distressed boaters were rescued from Lake Hopatcong, authorities said. One adult in a trio of boaters aboard a pontoon vessel jumped into the water in the Great Cove section of the lake near Espanong Road on Saturday, July 2, Jefferson Township Police Capt. The onetime owner of a defunct martial arts school must spend more than 6½ years in prison before he'll be eligible for parole for molesting an 11-year-old girl in Morris County, the third such case that he’d been involved in over a five-year span. The dominoes continued to fall for Paterson’s 230 Boys street gang when a reputed member was charged federally with selling the heroin and fentanyl dose that led to a user’s death. Morris Jurors Convict Ex-Martial Arts School Owner Of Molesting Girl, Third Case In 5 Years
Jurors in Morristown convicted the former owner of a defunct martial arts school on Friday of molesting an 11-year-old girl – the third such case that he’d been involved in over a five-year span.
