A 29-year-old Jersey City man pleaded guilty in connection with a 2020 shooting that left a 23-year-old man dead, authorities said. Kenyowa Pinkney admitted shooting Javone Smith near near Martin Luther King Drive and Myrtle Avenue the morning of Monday, April 6, 2020, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. A 29-year-old Jersey City man will spend the rest of his life in prison for beating an almost-2-year-old boy to death. A Jersey City woman was sentenced to probation for fraudulently collecting her father's Social Security and other benefits for years after he died, Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal said Tuesday. In addition to five years' probation, Sylvia Wilkerson, 68, must also make full restitution and has to perform 50 hours of community service.
