Hawthorne PD: Unlicensed Upstate NY Driver With Confusing Story Caught With 90 Heroin Folds
An upstate New York driver who was nearly 90 miles from home had 90 heroin folds stuffed down his pants when Hawthorne police stopped him, authorities said. Joshua Bahl, 30, of Saugerties was driving a Honda Fit with a suspended license when he was stopped by police for motor vehicle violations on Goffle Road near Wagaraw Road, records show. Bahl, who had several noticeable track marks on his arm, “appeared very nervous and gave the officer a very confusing story” about how he ended up in Hawthorne, Detective Lieutenant Matthew Hoogmoed said. Wyckoff PD: Hackensack Police Nab DWI Driver Who Fled Wrong-Way Crash On Route 208 Overpass
UPDATE: An unlicensed DWI driver from Paterson who fled a wrong-way crash that sent a Jeep rolling on a Route 208 overpass in Wyckoff was captured soon after in Hackensack, authorities said. Sabrina Y. Zegarra, 21, was driving an unregistered Mitsubishi Montero that crossed the double-yellow line on Russell Avenue and struck the Jeep around 5 p.m. Aug. 21, Lt. Joseph Soto said. The Jeep driver got out OK and reported minor injuries, Soto said. Glen Rock PD Nabs Paterson Hit-Run Driver Who Injured Hillsdale Motorist
Glen Rock police tracked down an unlicensed hit-and-run driver from Paterson who they said injured a 20-year-old Hillsdale motorist. The victim was stopped in traffic on Grove Street near Prospect Street last week when a vehicle driven by Samone T. Wade, 30, rear-ended him, Police Chief Dean Ackermann said. Wade took off before responding officers arrived, but by then the victim had collected information about her vehicle, Ackermann said.
