Authorities ID Driver Killed In Newark Crash With NJ Transit Bus A 33-year-old woman died and several others were injured in a crash between a vehicle and NJ Transit bus early Tuesday in Newark, authorities said. The Bloomfield-bound bus was struck head-on by a westbound 2007 Chevy Impala while going east on Hawthorne Avenue near Clinton Place around 5:30 a.m., NJ Transit spokesman Jim Smith said. Paige N. Townes was gunned down at 80 Clinton Place Tuesday night, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said, There did not appear to be a connection with the shooting the previous night that left 49-year-old Hassan Webb dead.  In both shootings there were multiple victims. 3 Shot, One Killed, In Second Straight Night Of Deadly Violence In Newark One person is dead and two others injured in a shooting in Newark Tuesday night, police said.  The victims, identified only as males, were shot on Clinton Place. One of the wounded was reportedly in critical condition, Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose said.  Ambrose referred additional inquiries to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.  The shooting comes on the heels of a pair of shootings Monday night that left one person dead and wounded four others . Those shootings occurred on South 8th Street and were also under investigation by the prosecutor's office.
