Retired State Trooper Suffered Medical Episode Before Route 287 Crash: Family, Police
The driver who died in a crash on Route 287 in Morris County this week has been identified as retired New Jersey State Trooper Kevin Hanrahan.
Hanrahan, 61, was heading north near milepost 31.4 in Harding Township around 9:05 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, when he ran off the road to the left and struck a metal guardrail, New Jersey State Police Trooper Charles Marchan said.
Hanrahan was rushed to a hospital, where he later died, Marchan said. Hanrahan's son, Kevin, said he had suffered a medical episode.

Nick Speranza Of Hawthorne Dies, 41
Nicholas Speranza of Hawthorne died on Monday, Sept. 14. He was 41 years old.
A water at Puzzo's restaurant in Hawthorne, Nick was a Ridgewood native and enjoyed riding his bike and walking through Goffle Brook Park, his obituary says.
He was remembered as an animal lover and artist.
Visitation will be Friday, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home. The funeral service and cremation will be private.
