'False Public Alarm': Bergen Homeless Shelter Bomb Scare Leads To Summons
A man who authorities said frequents the Bergen County homeless shelter was charged with causing a false public alarm after reportedly saying he had a bomb stashed there. John Showers, 57, was at a local social services program in Bergenfield on Wednesday when he claimed he had a bomb in his locker at the shelter in Hackensack, said Derek Sands, Bergen County Sheriff Anthony Cureton's chief of staff. Glen Rock police arrested a Hawthorne man who they said emailed a bomb threat to the borough public library. Carlos R. Pabon, 33, was arrested at the Ridgewood bus terminal early Wednesday evening and charged with making terrroristic threats and causing a false public alarm, Police Chief Dean Ackermann said. Flight From India To Newark Resumes After Security Threat: Report
An Air India flight from Mumbai that was forced to land in London due to an unspecified security threat is once again headed to Newark, WABC 7 reported Thursday. The flight was forced to land at Stanstead Airport for what the airline originally described in a tweet as a bomb threat, but that tweet was deleted, according to WABC 7. Lodi Elementary Schoolers Return After Bomb Threat
A Lodi elementary school was evacuated for nearly an hour and a half after someone phoned in a bomb threat Monday morning. The caller said he was "not so happy with" George Washington School and that there was a bomb inside, a law enforcement source told Daily Voice.
