Burglar Bolts Out Back Of Teaneck Auto Repair Shop As Police Arrive
An intruder who tripped a burglar alarm at a Teaneck auto repair shop bolted out a back door as police responded, authorities said. The officers were conducting area business checks when they heard the alarm and rushed to Noah’s Automotive -- at the corner of Queen Anne Road and Degraw Avenue, shortly after 12:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 6 -- Acting Police Chief Andrew R. UPDATE: Authorities were searching for the gunman who killed a 20-year-old Englewood man at a Teaneck basketball court on Saturday. Maximillian Reyes managed to dial 911 after he was shot in the abdomen at Ammann Park off Teaneck and Fort Lee roads around 4 p.m., responders said. Reyes was rushed to the trauma unit at Hackensack University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. No other injuries were immediately reported. A Newark ex-con driving a stolen car tried to elude Lyndhurst police by dashing into the Meadowlands marshes during an overnight pursuit, but their colleagues from other towns helped capture him, authorities said. Elmwood Park Man Accused Of Pulling Gun During Parking Space Argument
Two men were arguing over a parking space at an Elmwood Park garden apartment complex when one said the other pulled a gun from his backpack and pointed it at him, authorities said. The alleged victim and his girlfriend said they were with their infant child when the argument erupted in a Donor Avenue courtyard at the Elmwood Village Apartments late Friday, Police Chief Michael Foligno said.
