RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- Sammy Cermack, who was a star with Ridgewood Lacrosse, has been selected by the Philadelphia Force in the first year of the United Women's Lacrosse League draft, NJ Advance Media has reported.
The league currently has four teams, and play will begin this May.
NJ Advance Media describes her as "one of the most productive players in state history." Since high school, Cermac's played for John Hopkins University, been on Lehigh University's coaching staff and played on a semi-pro team, Team STX.
"I love lacrosse and I've loved to play it since I was in middle school," Cermack said, as NJ Advance Media reported. "Being able to continue to play the game and to be a part of history, I'm really truly honored."
