Benjamin Franklin Middle School last month participated in a school-wide "Gold Out" that raised awareness toward pediatric cancer and $1,000.

More than 800 students and staff wore a gold or yellow shirt all day and sold ribbons, bracelets, headbands and shoelaces for the cause.

The BFMS Student Council will be donating all proceeds to the Go4the Goal Foundation in memory of Michael Feeney, a Ridgewood boy who lost his battle with cancer.

Go4the Goal Foundation’s mission is to improve the lives of children battling cancer by providing financial support, developing and implementing unique hospital programs, funding innovative research, and granting personal wishes.
