But the district is taking precautionary measures and is working on a policy that would dictate exactly how it would be administered, NJ.com reports.
"We felt having Narcan was similar to having AEDs and EpiPens available in our schools just in case there is an emergency," Fishbein told Daily Voice.
Narcan Nasal Spray is a prescription medicine used for the treatment of an opioid emergency, such as an overdose or possible overdose, according to the Narcan website.
Fishbein said school physician Wayne Yankus was instrumental in securing the drug, which NJ.com reports is provided through The Valley Hospital.
