RIDGEWOOD, N.J. — The Ridgewood Village Council voted 4-1 in favor of introducing an ordinance to enter into an agreement with the Bergen County Improvement Authority to build a 300 car parking deck on Hudson Street at Tuesday night's public meeting.
The vote came after a 3-2 vote by Council in favor of a $12.3 million bond ordinance to build a 400 car parking deck.
A bond ordinance needs four votes to pass. Councilmembers Michael Sedon and Susan Knudsen voted against the bond ordinance.
"It is still my hope that we can find common ground and move forward," Ridgewood Mayor Paul Aronsohn told Daily Voice. "We need to build a parking deck."
The public hearing on the BCIA ordinance is scheduled for January 29.
