Witnesses: Victim In Ridgewood Restaurant Brawl Could Lose Eye

RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- A restaurant brawl in Ridgewood sent one Fair Lawn man to jail and could cost another his eye.

Chanakya Bali, 58, was charged with aggravated assault following the Monday night incident at a Franklin Avenue restaurant, records show.

Bali threw a glass at the 55-year-old victim requiring hospitalization, Police Chief Jacqueline Luthcke told Daily Voice.

A large piece of glass was embedded in his eye, a witness told the news site.

Bali remained in the Bergen County Jail until Wednesday, when he was released after a detention hearing, records show.

Both men are from Fair Lawn, the chief said.
