Two BMWs, third car in Ridgewood chain-reaction crash

YOU SAW IT HERE FIRST: A chain-reaction crash in Ridgewood involving three vehicles — two of them BMW sedans — sent one of the drivers to The Valley Hospital with chest pains after she was slammed into her steering wheel.

Both BMWs were towed from the scene at East Ridgewood Avenue near Heermance Place just before 5 p.m.

The third vehicle had moderate rear-end damage and was driven away.

Ridgewood firefighters were called to contain a minor fluid spill and to disconnect the batteries of both Beamers.

East Ridgewood Avenue was closed eastbound between South Irving Street and Brookside Avenue while the scene was cleared and the accident investigated.
