Tree Falls On Woman, 44, Walking Dog In Ridgewood

RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- Responders worked swiftly to free a woman who was seriously injured when a tree fell on her as she walked her dog Saturday morning in Ridgewood.

The 44-year-old victim was taken to Hackensack University Center after begin trapped under the large tree at the intersection of Heights Road and Woodland Avenue.

Firefighters used heavy rescue equipment and hand tools to free her.

A paramedic team from The Valley Hospital assisted Ridgewood EMTs.
