Although the home was occupied when the tree fell, no one was injured.

However, Ridgewood’s chief construction code official, Anthony Merlino, directed the homeowners and their children not to occupy certain portions of the structure until repairs have been made.

Ridgewood Fire Department personnel assisted in the initial cleanup and shut off all utilities off to the most severely damaged portion of the home.

Personnel from a Ramsey based tree service used two cranes to remove sections of the tree from the damaged roof.

A storm damage response team later placed tarps over damaged sections of the structure to prevent further water & wind damage.

Damage estimates weren’t immediately available.
