RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- A thorough clean-up was needed after someone inadvertently knocked over a 55-gallon drum of cooking oil in a Ridgewood municipal parking lot Wednesday morning.
Police, firefighters and sanitation workers responded along with members of the village Health and Engineering departments.
A private contractor was then summoned to complete the job.
The drum apparently was toppled by a refuse removal contractor trying to access a nearby trash container.
Boyd A. Loving contributed to this report.
