No arrests were made after the officers — including Ridgewood Police Chief John Ward — rushed to the Benjamin Franklin Middle School parking lot on North Van Dien Avenue.

The DeCamp Bus Lines driver told police he was assaulted by the owner of a silver pickup truck that his bus had inadvertently blocked into a space.

The pickup driver said it was he who was struck by the bus driver.

Tempers cooled quickly once uniformed and plainclothes officers arrived.

It’s up to either man whether to file charges against the other. But that didn’t appear likely this morning.
