Andrew Strittmatter, 25, was wearing an Indian Hills High School jacket as he knocked on doors yesterday morning, raising the suspicions of the resident who called police.

Officer Michael Lembo responded, supported by Officer Kevin McKeon and Detective Peter Youngberg, who were in the area.

They found Strittmatter carrying a box of jewelry and a tin-foil fold that contained prescription pills, Detective Chris McDowell told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this morning. He was brought to headquarters, where McDowell said he discovered that the jewelry was taken during a break-in earlier at a Kenilworth Road home.

Strittmatter was being held on $40,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with burglary, theft and drug possession.
