A homeowner off Lincoln Avenue who called police around 4:30 p.m. said he spotted 36-year-old Simon S. Strong on his property and then found his house burglarized, Ridgewood Police Chief John Ward told Daily Voice.
Uniformed officers and detectives from both towns were joined by a Bergen County Sheriff's K-9 unit -- and quickly spotted Strong at Lincoln Avenue and Greenway Road, he said.
Strong tossed some marijuana, along with jewelry and other items that turned up stolen, before being taken into custody, Ward said.
A judge ordered Strong held on $50,000 bail, charged with burglary in Ridgewood and Glen Rock and with receiving stolen porperty, criminal mischief and drug possession in Ridgewood and theft in Glen Rock.
A detainer also was placed on him out of Clifton should he make bail.
