Ridgewood firefighters keep garbage fire from spreading

YOU SAW IT HERE FIRST: Ridgewood firefighters doused a garbage bin blaze before it could reach a row of occupied buildings this afternoon.

Several 911 calls brought all on-duty firefighters to the East Ridgewood Avenue lot around 1:30 p.m.

The fire was put out within minutes.

Ridgewood police are investigating.
