Ridgewood Police and EMS personnel rushed to the 200 block of Steilen Avenue shortly before 6 p.m. Friday and found the on-duty USPS letter carrier breathing but unresponsive.

An ambulance quickly took him to the hospital.

It was unclear how long he’d been in that condition during the sweltering, humid afternoon.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family as we hope for a quick recovery,” Ridgewood Police Chief John Ward told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this afternoon.
