Pedestrian, 48, Struck In Ridgewood, Oakland Driver Cited

RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- A 48-year-old Ridgewood man was hospitalized after being struck in a village intersection by a Honda wagon driven by an Oakland man, authorities said.

The victim was taken to The Valley Hospital with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening after being struck by the wagon as he crossed dark and rainy Franklin Avenue from Oak Street around 6 p.m. Tuesday, Police Chief Jacqueline Luthcke said.

The driver, a 53-year-old Oakland man, received a summons for failing to yield to a pedestrian, the chief said.
