It was perfect timing for some: State Police posted a photo of a uniformed trooper with his infant son hours after word came that the New Jersey Supreme Court denied parole to a man who helped kill a trooper in cold blood in 1973.
"We are sons and daughters, brothers and sisters," the post says. "We are neighbors, coaches, and members of the community.
"We are people with hopes and dreams, just like you. We are New Jersey State Troopers.
"We would like to thank the proud mom who shared this beautiful photo with us. After some trying times, she is grateful to have these two men in her life."
The little guy will have to wait an extra day to celebrate his very first birthday this coming Tuesday, March 1.
Happy Birthday, kiddo.
