Mother, daughters escape injury in Ridgewood SUV tip

YOU SAW IT HERE FIRST: A mother and her two daughters escaped injury today during a freak Ridgewood parking lot accident in which their car’s brakes failed and the vehicle rolled on its side.

The Mazda SUV tipped in the Bank of America parking lot on North Maple Avenue, bringing Ridgewood police — led by Chief John Ward — and village firefighters and EMS workers.

Side-impace air bags deployed, and all three were wearing seatbelts, police said.

The vehicle was righted and removed by a flatbed tow truck.
