Lawyer: Ex-fbi agents investigating Favre-Sterger phone scandal

A team of former FBI agents is investigating a “person of interest” who may have given Brett Favre the phone number of Jenn Sterger, a former Jets employee who reportedly received unwanted texts and nude photos from the onetime New York quarterback, NBC‘s Peter King reported tonight.

Earlier today, Favre admitted sending voice messages to Sterger but not inappropriate photos.

Peter King, on “Football Night in America,” said Sterger’s attorney, Joseph Conway, told him he’d hired “a team of former FBI agents… and they’re focusing particularly on how the phone numer may have gotten from somebody withint ht Jets organization, they belive, to BG, in 2008.

“Joseph Conway also told me, ‘We have identified a person of interest who worked for the Jets in 2008.”

Favre — whose Vikings are visiting his longtime team, the Green Bay Packers, tonight — has said little more beyond admitting to the voicemails, contending that it’s a league matter. His wife hasn’t commented. Neither has Sterger.

The NFL says it’s investigating and hopes to talk with Sterger, now a host on the Versus Network.
