Jeffrey Albrechtson, a 61-year-old international management development consultant, was released on a variety of charges and summonses following his arrest on Van Emburg Avenue just before 5 o’clock yesterday.

These include leaving the scene of an accident, reckless driving and DWI.

A caller told village police he’d tried to stop him from driving away on South Broad Street near the New York Sports Club, but Albrechtson took off in a black GMC Arcadia, Police Chief John Ward told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this morning.

Others tried following, but Albrechtson headed the wrong way down Hudson Street, he said.

Reports of an erratic driver came in as police converged on the area.

At Linwood Avenue the SUV rear-ended a car whose driver tried following, but he lost sight of it, Ward said.

Hillsdale police stopped Albrechtson a short time later.
