Manual Isaias Perez-Curruchich, 19, was arrested by Fairview police and members of Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli’s Special Victims Unit early this morning in connection with a Dec. 1 incident.
He is being held on $350,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with aggravated sexual assault on a minor and child endangerment. He’s due for a first appearance in Fairview Municipal Court tomorrow afternoon.
Fairview police went to Perez-Curruchich’s Walker Street apartment yesterday on an unrelated matter, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said.
While there, “it was brought to their attention by another family member in the household that [he] had touched [the victim] in the past,” the prosecutor said.
Molinelli said the officers detained Perez-Curruchich, a Guatemalan native who works in Jersey City. Detectives quickly arrived, took over the case and notified the prosecutor’s Special Victims Unit.
