Elderly driver crashes car through side of Ridgewood takeout restaurant

An elderly motorist was cited for careless driving after his car smashed through the side of a Ridgewood Chinese restaurant this morning.

The car slammed into the China King on North Maple Avenue in the Kings supermarket shopping center around 8 a.m. today.

Village officials deemed the section of the complex structurally sound, allowing the restaurant to reopen as soon as the debris could be cleared and the damage repaired.
