Dog’s best friend: Comfort after being hit by car

SHOUT OUT: A dog struck by a car got comfort from a Ridgewood police officer while awaiting the owner’s son, who took the Husky to a local animal hospital with leg and hip injuries.

The Paterson driver of a Chevy wagon that hit Dakota remained at the scene following the accident Thursday afternoon on Northern Parkway.

No summonses were issued.

Officer Jeffrey Kay remained with Dakota until police could find his owner’s 22-year-old son, who took the four-legged victim for treatment.
