Dog rescued, driver arrested after suspected DWI crash in Ridgewood

ONLY ON CVP: A Mini Cooper driver involved in an afternoon crash with a tandem axle dump truck in Ridgewood was taken into custody following her release from The Valley Hospital following treatment for minor injuries, authorities told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

A dog who was in the car bolted after the crash but was quickly snagged by Officer Colin Donnelly.

Police suspect the Mini Cooper crossed the center line while heading west on East Glen Avenue and slammed into the eastbound truck at the intersection of Northern Parkway around 1:50 p.m.

Both the truck and the car, which was impounded, were towed from the scene.

Ridgewood police, firefighters and EMS workers responded.

Firefighters tended to a minor fluid spill.
