Crashes tie up Route 17, Linwood Avenue in Ridgewood

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: Two separate crashes within 45 minutes of one another tied up traffic on Route 17 and Linwood Avenue and sent at least one person to the hospital.

The most serious collision was on busy Linwood Avenue near the highway when a Honda Civic sedan T-boned a Jeep (photo, above).

One of the drivers was taken The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, while the other refused medical attention.

The second crash happened on the westbound Linwood Avenue Route 17 overpass.

Two people were injured, although it was unclear whether they required hospitalization.

Ridgewood police, firefighters and EMS workers responded to both incidents.

Paramus police helped with traffic, which was tired up for more than an hour.
