The crash occurred on East Ridgewood Avenue near South Pleasant Avenue. Police redirected traffic while Ridgewood firefighters attended to a minor fluid spill and disconnected the SUV’s battery to minimize the risk of fire.
Damage to the bus was limited to the left rear bumper and fender, although the Mercedes appeared totaled. It removed by flatbed tow truck.
