The first, called Comet 252P/LINEAR and covered by emerald-green gas, will pass at 8:14 a.m. Monday (Eastern Daylight Time).
It will be followed a day later by a similarly colored comet, called Comet 2016 BA14, around 10:30 a.m. EST.
It is expected to come within 2.2 million miles of Earth -- almost 10 times farther from the Earth than the moon -- making it the closest comet to brush by Earth since 1770.
It may be visible under clear skies with binoculars, experts say.
