Nick McCarthy was recently hospitalized for the third time since a snowboard accident last month when he slid and crashed into a snow-making machine in the Poconos, according to the page.

He suffered 11 broken ribs, a liver contusion, a pulmonary contusion, pneumothorax and hemathorax.

Along the way, McCarthy has endured thoracic surgery, a MRSA infection around a lung and, currently, an unexplained spiked temperature, the page says.

“Nick's recovery will be extremely difficult,” writes campaign organizer Amy McCambridge Steppe.

“He has a special IV placed in his arm which will remain for six weeks. He will need home infusion for antibiotics three times a day for six weeks.”
