Jeffers, a 2015 Ridgewood High School graduate, is part of a six-woman Junior Team running in the 4K race in the Great Edinburgh Cross Country International Challenge. Teams are coming from the U.S., Great Britian and other European countries to compete, according to NJ.com.

Ridgewood Public Schools Superintendent Daniel Fishbein gave Jeffers, now a freshman at Brown University, a shout-out Friday by tweeting "GO CARLEEN" on his Twitter page.

At Ridgewood High School, Jeffers is credited with helping lead Ridgewood to its fourth straight top title at Bergen County Meet of Champions in 2014, and set a course record at Darlington Park. At Brown, she's placed 17th in the 6K at the Ivy League Championships, and finished 26th in the NCAA Regionals.
