Cooper, owned by Michael and Tracee Sherman, had 549 votes as of Thursday afternoon in the Kuranda Dog of the Month photo contest.
If he wins, Cooper will receive a luxury fleece pad and have beds donated to Andover's Purrs n Pups in his name.
"There are so many loving dogs in this world that need forever homes, and Cooper has given us more joy than we can possibly imagine," Michael Sherman said.
"To be able to have Cooper give back to the organization that literally saved his life would be really cool."
Michael takes Cooper to training every week and hopes to certify him as a therapy dog.
"We believe in the mission of the organization," Sherman said of Purrs n Paws.
"We believe in helping these amazing animals and we just want to help make other lives better — both the furry ones and the human ones."
Everyone can vote once a day through July 31.
