RIDGEWOOD, N.J. – A wild turkey tried to pay a Ridgewood family a visit Thursday morning but apparently was unable to reach the doorbell.
The bird was spotted wandering around Ridgewood's east side before scampering up a walkway and to the family's front door.
Wild turkeys are abundant statewide, with a population estimated from 20,000 to 23,000, according to the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife.
