Ridgewood YMCA Celebrating Woman For 95 Years With Gala

RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- The Executive Director of the Ridgewood Chamber of Commerce and a Ridgewood High School senior will be honored along with other women and men at an event May 9 at The Seasons in Washington Township. 

Dr. Dara Richardson-Heron will be on hand to receive the YWCA Bergen County Visionary Award.

Cost is $125 and includes cocktails, four-course dining, open bar, “Dancing Through the Decades” with Arthur Murray Dance of Ridgewood, music, special guests, a silent auction and more.

  • Honorary Legacy Host: Joan Groome, Ridgewood Chamber of Commerce Executive Director
  • Woman of Action Award: Valerie Vaineri Huttle, 37th District Assemblywoman
  • Young Leader Award: Charlotte Samuels, Ridgewood High School senior and the youngest Triple Crown swimmer
  • Beacon of Light Award: Gina Plotino, Founding member of Women United in Philanthropy and VP of Programs & Operations for Bergen County’s United Way

The program will also feature five stand out men who support Bergen County women. 

  • Tom Toronto, President of Bergen County United Way 
  • Anthony Cureton, President Bergen County, NJ NAACP 
  • AJ Luna, Director of Bergen County Veterans Services 
  • Jeremy Lentz, Executive Director of the Teaneck International Film Festival 
  • Anthony Johnson, WABC-TV News journalist.
