Celebrate Beethoven's Birthday In Ridgewood This Sunday

RIDGEWOOD, N.J. — Beethoven died 188 years ago, but his music has stood the test of time and the West Side Presbyterian Church in Ridgewood is honoring that.

The South Monroe Street church will host a 3 p.m. Beethoven concert for the composer's 245th birthday.

"It will be a truly moving performance," says Inmo Paroff of Parlance Chamber Concerts — the group organizing the event.

The concert will feature Beethoven's Sonata No. 4 in C, Op. 102, Sonata No. 9 in A, Op. 47 (Kreutzer), and Trio in D, Op. 70, No. 1 (Ghost). 

Performing will be Violinist Kristin Lee – recipient of the prestigious 2015 Avery Fisher Career Grant. The grant recognizes a talented instrumentalist each year. 

On piano will be Gilles Vonsattel, who received the Avery Fisher Grant in 2008. 

They will be joined on the cello by Paul Watkins of New York City;s Emerson String Quartet.
