At approximately 11:30 a.m., officers responded to the scene of a two-car crash with minor injuries on Paramus Road, Chief Robert Guidetti said. In that crash, a 36-year-old Hackensack man was heading south in his Audi Q7 when a black Infiniti QX8 heading north crossed over the curbed media and struck the Audi, Guidetti said.

The driver of the Audi reported difficulty breathing, while the Infiniti’s driver sustained a head laceration. Additionally, a male passenger in the Infiniti also suffered a head injury. All injured individuals were taken to Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC) for treatment. Summonses will be issued to the Infiniti driver.

Then, a second two-car crash occurred at the same location but did not result in injuries.

Adding to the chaos, a live electric wire came down, prompting immediate action by PSE&G, which arrived on-site to address the hazard. Due to the downed wire, both Paramus Road North and South were closed at Route 4, according to police.

The traffic signal at the intersection of Red Mill and Paramus Road is also out of service, officials said. The New Jersey Department of Transportation has been notified and is responding to repair the traffic light.

Drivers are urged to avoid the area and plan alternate routes until further notice. Stay with Daily Voice for updates on this developing situation.
