Jersey Mike's Subs will open on Wednesday, Feb. 8 with support for the bell tower continuing until Wednesday, Feb. 8.

The new restaurant, located at 305 E Ridgewood Ave, is circulating 5,000 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $2 donation to the bell tower at Ridgewood High School.

Customers must have a coupon to be eligible.

Owners Bradford Fritts and Steve Korman also own the Jersey Mike's Subs in Ramsey, which they opened in August, 2014.

“I look forward to bringing the authentic Jersey Mike’s sub sandwiches to the Ridgewood community, a town I know well,” said Fritts.

“During our grand opening fundraiser, we will be partnering with Ridgewood High School which not only provides an excellent education to the local youth but is the heart and soul of this town. We are as excited as local residents to finally open our doors and look forward to seeing you all there," he said.

Known for its East Coast-style subs on fresh baked bread, the chain started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, according to its corporate history.

“The company’s mission is to bring its customers the highest quality, freshest made sub in the industry and give back to the communities in which it operates,” according to a write-up on the company’s Facebook page.

The eatery is on East Ridgewood Avenue in the old Harding’s Pharmacy building.

The restaurant’s hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week. Call 201-857-5377 for more information.

In 2016, the company’s 6th Annual Jersey Mike’s Month of Giving in March raised more than $4 million for 180 charities throughout the country.
