UPDATE: Law enforcement agencies in two states were sharing information in the search for a masked gunman who robbed two gas stations in Mahwah, another in Paramus and a 7-Eleven in Fair Lawn of several thousand dollars in less than a half hour. The spree ended with back-to-back holdups of two gas stations on northbound Route 17 in Mahwah barely a couple of minutes from the Rockland County border. UPDATE: An overnight stolen vehicle chase ended in a crash that sent a Paramus police officer to the hospital, three Newark thieves to jail and two department cruisers to the shop, authorities said. Two Paramus police cars and a stolen sedan all had to be towed following a damaging Labor Day pursuit that ended with several occupants in custody.
