PD: Out-Of-State DWI Motorist Arrested On Route 46 With Gun, Pot, Open Booze In Car
An out-of-state driver was arrested -- and then freed under bail reform -- after Moonachie police said they found pot, booze and a loaded gun in his car during a Route 46 traffic stop.
Officers Matthew Veltri and Frank Tamargo stopped Damian Roscoe Brooks, 39, a Paterson native now living in Elkton, MD, for driving recklessly on the eastbound highway, Police Chief Richard Behrens said.
After having him step out of his 2012 Honda Accord, the officers spotted several open alcoholic beverage containers and a Glock 9mm that turned out to be loaded with hollow-point bullets, Behrens said.

A Little Ferry mom caught a friend of her husband's sexually assaulting the couple's 2-year-old daughter in the child's bedroom, authorities said.
Franklin Gomez Paredes, 28, of Moonachie pulled up his underwear and pants as both the mother and father chased him out of their home around 3:30 a.m. Saturday, responders said.
Paredes, who didn't have a car, fled on foot, they said. He was arrested at his home a short time later.

Portable Radios Stolen From Norwood EMS Building, Suspects From Another Squad Charged
Three emergency medical workers with another squad broke into the Norwood EMS building and stole three portable radios, authorities charged.
Two of them, Antonio Guinta, 26, and Frank Ballante, 19, both of Norwood, have been with the Moonachie First Aid & Rescue Squad a little over a year, said Franklin Smith, the squad’s captain.
The third defendant, Anthony Olsen, 47, of Laurence Harbor was an observer who’d recently been with a squad in South Jersey, Smith said.
It turns out he also had a criminal record, authorities said they discovered.
