Police were looking for a troubled man whose father sustained minor stab wounds in an assault at a South Hackensack motel. Carlos Rodriguez, 27, fled after the 8:40 a.m. incident on Sunday, Aug. 28, at the Knights Inn off Route 46, Police Chief Robert Chinchar said. Both had been living together there the past several years, he said. A driver was caught with a loaded gun and illegal ammo during a Route 46 traffic stop, authorities said. Victor Rocha, 21, of of Spring, TX was stopped by Officer Joseph Convery near the corner of Route 46 and Grand Street in Little Ferry shortly before 1:30 a.m. Sunday for having heavily tinted front windows, Police Chief James Walters said. An ex-con staying at a Route 46 motel was caught with nearly a half-ounce of cocaine following a traffic stop, authorities said. South Hackensack Officer Kyle Skelley stopped a 2020 Honda CRV with a cracked windshield just off the highway around 9 a.m. Tuesday, Detective Sgt. James Donatello said. The driver, William J. A group of stick-up artists robbed two women at a Route 46 hotel, responders said. Authorities were trying to piece together details of the holdup at the Knights Inn in South Hackensack early Sunday, May 1. The women, both in their early 30s, apparently had been partying with the three Latino men and a woman when they were robbed of their cellphones. No injuries were immediately reported. No Prison Time For Cranford Man Who Sexually Assaulted Woman: Report
A 30-year-old Cranford man received a suspended five-year prison sentence Thursday after admitting he sexually assaulted a motel worker in Atlantic City three years ago, BreakingAC reported. An attorney for John Ryan blamed “psychosis” for the attack on the woman at the Knights Inn motel June 13, 2016, adding that the victim supported the plea deal struck with prosecutors.
